Over 250 people took to Busselton Foreshore to celebrate play for all abilities
A fantastic turn out, on a beautiful WA day. Organised by Playgroup WA, the free family fun day set out to celebrate play for all abilities. Children and families came together to share in a huge range of activities, optimized for accessibility, relationship building and connecting community. From sensory play, physical play, quiet reading (Paint the Cape REaD), an animal farm, bubbles, story time, dancing and music – people from all backgrounds shared the simple joy of playing.
Attended by local disability support agencies, locals were invited to meet and learn about available community services. Through a relaxed and fun environment parents and children were able to talk openly about their needs and receive information about diagnosis processes and how to access support, both for children and adults.
A huge thank you to Senses WA, South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS) and the WA Abilities Centre for joining us in raising awareness and supporting the community through play.
